AMANDA WATCHMAN

From winning a Chartered Accountant Award in Year 12 at Blackwood High School, Amanda was always destined to one day run her own accounting practice.

Amanda started working with Alex Ritt while studying at Flinders University. After completing her Bachelor of Commerce, she went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Accounting and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in January 2008.

She completed her Certificate of Public Practice in 2010 and went into partnership with Alex within the same year. Together they built a successful accounting practice, with Amanda taking over the sole ownership of the firm in May 2020.

As an individual, Amanda strives to maintain her integrity, build trust and to work with honour. These are the cores beliefs that she uses daily which have become the foundation of her practice and her team as it stands today.

Amanda’s focus is to build strong long-term relationships with her clients by having trust and respect with one another. By building these type of trust Amanda is able to work closely with her clients so together they can achieve goals and targets for by themselves personally and for their business.

Work Experience

Amanda has experience in all areas of accounting, taxation, and business finance services.

She enjoys providing assistance too small to medium sized enterprises, professional consultants and individual taxpayers. The services she has provided to her clients include profit targets, tax planning, income tax advice, insolvency issues, matrimonial settlements, succession planning, and restructuring requirements. She especially loves helping individuals who are new in business, helping them build their knowledge by educating them on all things tax and accounting so they can successfully run their own business.

She enjoys working with individuals looking to implement online accounting software programs within their business such as MYOB, XERO, QuickBooks, and Reckon. Her team loves to help clients with the initial set up of their program, using bank feeds and completing the data entry and bank reconciliations. Of course, ongoing support and training is always available when required so that her clients can learn their business profits and trading results in real time. The practice is planning to provide workshops and training sessions to continue to help educate clients on the benefits of the programs early in the new year.

Amanda also enjoys working closely with individuals who are keen property investors. Identifying and educating them with all aspects of ATO reporting compliance including educating them on what is deductible, what forms part of the cost base of a property etc when required.

In the future Amanda would like to use her experience and knowledge to help struggling businesses within her local community. By working together she hopes to change their circumstances by setting achievable goals and targets to grow and be profitable.

Amanda enjoys educating clients and has presented tax topic seminars and sessions including Succession Planning, Business Structures, Tax Minimisations Strategies, Small Business Concessions, SMSF and superannuation to both local and rural businesses. She is looking to continue providing theses information sessions to her clients and individuals next year.

Interests & Hobbies

Outside the office Amanda enjoys spending time with her two wonderful children and husband, going for walks with her mum and sisters along the beach, cooking new foods, and playing alongside her husband on the golf course.
