Wondering what you can claim for your work travel? When a trip is for business purposes only you can claim all airfares, taxis and car hire – and accommodation and meal costs for overnight travel if the business requires it. But if you mix business and private travel, you must keep records showing the business-related and private parts of the trip. Fortunately, if the primary purpose of the trip is for business, you can claim the whole cost of the return airfares (but only the accommodation on the nights related to a business purpose).
